Not a beach but technically the closest outdoor swimmable water to me is in my backyard.

Air temperature 27C. Water temperature 31C.

Gonna be in there in an hour!

As seen in post 128 here:

Either rocky point in mexico or san Diego. Rocky point is 90 degrees rite now averages a temp of 96 and a sea temp of 82. Despite the warmth I'd still take the beaches in san Diego due to the much better waves

wow nobody allowed to use beach umbrellas? That's an awkward beach pic to me. We have beaches everywhere as we're on Long Island. We take them for granted, but we do go a lot. Too bad summer is short.

Just wanted to add about beach fees - there are no beaches here where you have to pay an entrance fee here and so anything is free.I have been once in a beach in North western Germany, I am not sure but it might be so that there was a fee. The only beach with payment I have seen in this region was a beach in Latvia where seeing that we were parking the car suddenly came to us a woman and asked us to pay 50 Latvian cents and then gave us a ticket. The funny thing was also that practically the whole Latvian coastline is like sandy beach and that untypical beach with entrance fee was in a totally rural area, far from towns and everything..
Here are a few pics about nearest beaches to me:

I wouldn't visit any of the following beaches on a weekend, they are just too crowded for my liking:

Nearest beach is 20 KM away from the city.

Current temp is 27C there, water temp I have no clue probably about 26C now.

More common beach is Grand Beach which is 80 KM from the city. The sand here is very nice, just like sand in tropical places.

Current air temp is 27C, dewpoint 20C.

Water temp is 25C, buoy located 12 KM from shore. The lake is Huge.

Santa Monica-Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Venice. I live in West Los Angeles, it is pretty close, no more than 45 minutes. The weather is moderate warm.

My nearest beach is about a twelve minute drive from my home. I've been swimming there for about thirty-five years and for the majority of those years it was fairly unknown to the general public. Today it is a city park.

This emerald green, tree-rimmed, spring-fed pond is the result of gravel mining which went on until the company hit a spring and it was no longer useable. So the water is clear, the beach and the entire bottom is lined with sand.

This year has been a poor swimming year and the first time I've been all summer was just a couple of weeks ago. It rained most of April and June, was cloudy and cool most of July and the water and breeze has been unseasonably cool.

Today a partly cloudy day was predicted and I went but it was cloudy all afternoon and breezy. While the temperature is in the low eighties being wet with cool water and a breeze made it feel more like the low seventies.

Generally at this time of year it would be crowded (too crowded for me since it has become a popular spot) but today there were only a handful of people there.
