1) There are less African American males with higher education, or even basic education. Verification: 47 % of African American males graduate from high school.
If a company wanted to hire only people with high school degrees, there are less African American males to choose from, than the rest of the popluation.
There are other reasons, but those would start a racist dialogue, rather than answer the question.
We have been told that "Race doesn't exist" and that "Race is a social construct" and "It's just skin color"
But when people decide using race in their favor, it exists BIG TIME. They make it everything.
So if race doesn't exist, and everyone is the same, why should companies seek out anyone for their label, in fact, why label anyone as anything? Why would anyone call themselves an "African American" if race doesn't matter?
By the way, the hiring trends right NOW favor nonwhites, so saying they get less jobs, well, you said it yourself, only 47% of them graduate from high school. So ask yourself why that is...

Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (8.9
percent), adult women (8.0 percent), teenagers (25.4 percent), whites
(8.0 percent), blacks (16.7 percent), and Hispanics (11.3 percent) showed
little or no change in August. The jobless rate for Asians is 7.1 percent. Employment Situation Summary

They don't have to be "Harvard English scholars" but a good mastery of the English language and proper communication skills is essential in any white collar profession. Scientists, accountants and doctors do not work in a vacuum and they must be able to effectively communicate with their team members and their clients/patients.
George W. Bush Jr - was not an effective communicator and he was President of the old USA. The top position in this country.

And look at how people poked fun at his language skills ... No company wants to hire someone who cannot clearly articulate or who's language skills would embarrass the company ...

As with many areas in life the rich often don't have to play by the same rules as the rest of us.
