Anyways, you can wear your yarmulke during Carnivals or the yellow star if you want.
If public ostentation of any faith is obscene, you are an absolute intolerant bigot who is obscene, gross and repulsive (Yellow Star).
Please stay in western Europe - you fit in beautifully with their hypocritical morality that presumes to judge everyone else in the world.
DO NOT COME TO THE UNITED STATES - YOU ARE THE LAST THING A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY NEEDS

just for the record Orthodox Jews could wear a yarmulke in a state like Oklahoma that has almost no Orthodox Jews and get less problems then doing the same in the "great" metropolis" of Amsterdam.

just curious do you have a non bigoted reason why public nudity should be allowed but not following your religion in public?

the fact that you compare a yarmulke to a yellow star tells me that you most likely want to put them on all Jews. Hitler would be proud of you.

From what I know Australians are quite laid back, whereas the US is full of uptight fundamentalist Christians.

Also, I voted Netherlands.
I find that strange too. Australia is more secular than the USA and it is more sucessful in integrating its immigrants than to UK, Germany and Spain.

at least 3 countries (Sweden, New Zealand, and Switzerland) that banned Jewish and Muslim slaughtering of animals for meat are on this list.

the Scandanavian countries are amongst the most anti semetic 1st world countries in the world.

the french banned religious item's like yarmulkes, hijabs, and large crosses in public schools.

in recent years the chief rabbi of France and different parts of Germany (the latter which due to guilt from their actions during the Nazi era is actualy one of the best country's un Western Europe today) Jews not to where yarmulkes because of fear of anti semetic attacks. (I don't remember this happening anytime in the past decade anywhere in the US)

I guess you can discriminate against religions and be called "tolerant" if your in favor of things that have nothing to do with tolerance like public nudity and prostitution, marriage redefinition, drugs, euthanasia and other such disgusting behaviors.

though I have to give you some credit at least you didn't include Norway in this list.
Sweden and Finlandis one of the only few countries in this world where Yiddish has official minority language status. Anyway Scandinavians would admit they have more problems with its Muslims compared the Jews that live there. It is like the rest of Europe where native Europeans would more likely admit they have more issues with Muslims than the Jews.

maybe they like truly tolerant countries and not places like Netherlands which is only tolerant of vices and it's practitioners, but not people who are different.

Australians as a whole can be quite conservative though. We don't have as much religious fundamentalism (although it's definitely here) but we don't seem as progressive as somewhere like California.

Well I dont know the rest of Australia but Sydney and Melbourne is very progressive for Australia.

Well since California is so progressive why did most people in the election for Proposition 8 banning gay marriage? Yes you have some places in California that are very tolerant such as the main cities yet there are still areas where it is quite conservative and very republican.

We don't have gay marriage yet and I don't really hear much talk about it. Of all the parties, on the Greens, none one of the two majors, has it as one of their policies. A range of opinions can be found in both the major parties, but the Prime Minister and many senior Labor ministers are somewhat against it. Public support for gay marriage, depending on who you believe, is around 40-60%, and this is a much less religious population than the US.

Sydney and Melbourne are the equivalent of LA/SF and NY. The two biggest, most progressive and liberal cities.
