I was angry at first. However, the GSU renaissance of the Turner Field parking desert is a generational win for Atlanta.

I also think that in time MARTA will come to Cobb and the new stadium.

Patience my friends.

Go Braves!

That area is fine once you get a few blocks away from the stadium. Grant Park on the east and Adair Park on the west are some of the hottest neighborhoods in the city with a lot of families moving in. The Braves just never invested in the area. But now that they are gone the area is getting redeveloped. If you think the problem was "the area", then the cause was the Braves.

The Braves never invested because they didn't own the parking lots. Unlike the mixed-use around STP, that Liberty Media owns 100% of.

Nobody was stopping them from buying the lots near Turner. In fact the city was willing to have private developers develop the lots with zero cost to the Braves. But Liberty Media blocked that because they wanted full control.

Right now they are 16th in the league for attendance. Not bad for April/early May considering they were 22nd in attendance for 2016.

People are excited to experience the new stadium. The honeymoon effect will wear off soon. They need to get good again to gain higher attendance numbers.
