Here even the Tesla, costing $80,000+ is very common and doesn't impress anyone. I see 5-6 every day on the way home from work. In order to really demonstrate your financial success with a car, you would need to have a Maybach, Ferrari or Lamborghini. On the other hand, people here don't seem to be very concerned about what someone else is driving. Really only car people like me notice other cars, and am not impressed by the owner's money, just by the coolness of the car. That's the reason I drive a Challenger, it's just very cool, not cookie cutter like most cars out there, and lots of fun to drive, but also affordable.
I notice cars, or flashy cars/models don't seem to be as important every time I visit Washington State...
We stopped by Alderbrook in Union to celebrate Mom's birthday... the parking lot was full of late model imports... lots of Lexus, Toyotas, Honda etc...
I'm a car person so I tend to notice cars wherever I am...
My stock 62 white Corvette with red interior does seem to get noticed wherever I am...

Actually, in the land of the 1 percenters a Lambo is chump change.
Those that really want to impress go to water toys. We were in Boyne City Michigan a couple of weeks ago to spectate at a offshore powerboat poker run. Saw several boats that were close to the million dollar mark. Crazy when a 1650hp engine/ outdrive package is $250k and you need 2 ! Then the cost of the boat, another $100k for the trailer and another $100k plus for a tow vehicle. All that for something that gets used 10-15 times a year (due to insurance restrictions), so you know they also own a big a$$ cruiser as well. True ballers.
I wouldn't get a corvette unless it was a classic year. Around where I live, the newer models are commonly associated with young db males or recently divorced middle aged males with whitening hair. I am of the latter category, and I don't feel I need to announce it to the world. Since I am the opposite of rich and an Aston or an Audi R8 blows my budget to hell and back, I'd probably choose a CTS-V or a Jag XK if I was going to go buck wild. Or a 69 Boss. Or even a 65 Vette. A 1960 Vette would be super sweet too.
CTS-V is more expensive than a Corvette. So is a Jaguar .
Not cheap but not noteworthy I'm not into sports cars but when I get one, I'll pay top dollar to get something I really like as opposed to settling for Corvette just to save money
Please, my car is infinitely better than a Corvette.
They're not even the same type of car. It's like saying my Tahoe is better than your motorcycle.
3 Series is a fine car if you want to hide in a crowd and not be noticed by anyone.

You can say the same thing about a Corvette where I live.
