30k miles...no tickets. Gotta be smart about it.

Had a dumb-arse in a ford focus go blazing by me this AM in a construction zone with congestion no less...going about 100mph.

Being a "cop magnet" is about how you drive imo....and um...hypothetically I might go pretty fast on occasion...just gotta know where and when and ESPECIALLY be safe and not blow by somebody at 140mph when they might be texting and drifting or decide to suddenly change lanes etc.

Just my philosophy even though I never go more than 5mph over the speed limit.

But hypothetically, if I were to gun it up to 120-140-180 etc.....I would do it where I wouldn't be a risk to myself or others.

That is the most ugly Vette ever produced.

*shrug* they stole a lot from the C6 Z06 for the front end but the rear looks like a Camaro...so I hear that. However I personally found the C5 and stock C6 to be "meh".

It's like art, nobody is right or wrong.

I am more into (classic, 4-5 passenger) muscle cars, but I wouldn't mind owning a '66 427 'Vette (low-13/high-12s in the 1/4 mile) or a '69 L88 'Vette (11s in the 1/4 mile).

My neighbor has two 50,000 trucks. I'm too old for a corvette now. I want comfortable cars at this stage of my life. Ever try getting in and out of a corvette? Good luck! It's no wonder SUVs are so popular. They're easy getting in and out plus you have plenty of room if you happen to want something you see when shopping..

The new Corvettes are nothing to sneeze at. As a matter of fact, if given the choice between a new Ferrari California or the new Z06, I'd take the new Z06 every day of the week.

Are they as "prestigious"? No, but who gives a flying monkey crap? It outperforms it in just about every category except for price.

I could really give two craps what smug Susan at the Starbucks thinks of what I drive.

I wonder if people in Italy say the same thing about older men driving Ferraris and Lambos chasing young women. Or do Germans turn their nose up at someone driving an old 924 or 944 thinking they are a poser for having a cheap old Porsche or that they are compensating if they drive a new one. I doubt it. They probably have a bit more pride and respect for the home team even if they personally dont necessarily like or desire that particular vehicle.

I wouldn't get a corvette unless it was a classic year. Around where I live, the newer models are commonly associated with young db males or recently divorced middle aged males with whitening hair. I am of the latter category, and I don't feel I need to announce it to the world. Since I am the opposite of rich and an Aston or an Audi R8 blows my budget to hell and back, I'd probably choose a CTS-V or a Jag XK if I was going to go buck wild. Or a 69 Boss. Or even a 65 Vette. A 1960 Vette would be super sweet too.

I don't see any difficulty getting in and out of my vette.
Matter of fact, it has a memory feature that moves the steering wheel and seat for easy exit and entrance.
Once seated, the seats are extremely comfortable.

Bob.

You can get a CTS-V under $20k pretty easily.

Of course, you can also pick up a similar age E55 for even less. I probably couldn't afford the E55 though. Money pits.
