I just finished Heart of the Matter, by Graham Greene, and have moved on to Sons and Lovers by Lawrence.

As a project, I downloaded the Modern Library Top 100 Novels list, and am working my way through it. It's really been rewarding.

Thank you all for posting!

I love to read, but need suggestions! (our library roof caved in so I can't even go browse)

THis thread has enough to keep me reading for 20years! I love it, just what I was looking for, ideas galore!

you just have to paste "Modern Library Top 100 Novels" in google, it works fine. I tried it myself.

Just started "Roses are red" by James Patterson. I'm buying the Alex Cross series now one after the other. Just nice reading...

I am reading Snowflower and the Secret Fan. It started off really fluffy, but now looks promising.

Also am reading August 1914...this was on my "to read" list, so when Solzhenitsen died I started it. It isn't as compelling as his non-fiction, can't say more than that yet, other than it sure has that Russian feel!

Oh, and I tried Twilight, cause my daughter wanted me to like it (and everyone I know). I'm done.

Working my way through the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony again. I read the series through many times when I was growing up but donated the books when I moved into a smaller place. Recently repurchased them and am on the third one With a Tangled Skein.

Also reading the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. I'm currently on the sixth book Blood Rights. Entertaining series I was turned onto after watching the short lived tv series of the same name.
