Doesn't sound true at all because it gets a constant influx of people under 30. Anecdotally, doesn't seem true

I ask again...what groups are you applying your assertion to? General U.S. population, Northeast, New England, Boston region, urban Boston, Boston city, Boston natives, Boston transplants?

I think your anecdotal assessment could very well be accurate for one or more of these groups. I just don't know who you are referring to. It's not clear.

I'm under 30 and I don't live near Boston and it has probably been the third most brought up city here in NJ after NYC and DC.

Sounds like anecdotal personal experience further undermined by selective attention and bias. I would be genuinely shocked if young people outside the Northeast or areas with high concentrations of NE migrants (i.e. Florida) care at all about Boston or have formulated any opinions, especially on racism in Boston.

Honestly, the suggestion that the average young American pays attention or cares enough to form an opinion about racism in Boston is just ridiculous. You have way too much confidence in Americans' and young peoples' awareness and attention span.

I mean technically I agree that most people don't have a strong opinion about Boston or really any city besides ones they live(d) in except for the kind of ppl who post on cd forums.

Thats not the point though and people do have sort of loosely held conceptions of different places floating around that substitute for convictions and can still be harmful.

This new documentary film, A Reckoning in Boston, is basically about what we've covered here. But with an emphasis on gentrification.

Back then no one could have predicted the demand would be soo high for housing. That neighborhood was planned in the early 2000s to be suburban ad provide housing to middle-class people. About 70% of all the homes in those developments arerealtively heavily subsidized income-restricted and the few that arent are outrageously priced and sit on the market for years at a time-like the home you just showed. I don't know who's gonna buy that but tat homes been for sale for forever it feels like.

The entire place should have been townhomes like the HOPE IV Franklin Hill development next too it. IMO its an awful neighborhood in terms of location and cohesiveness with the only redeeming quality being its adjacent to a good charter school.

The neighborhood: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.2905...7i16384!8i8192

There are certainly many homes above 1M dollars in Roxbury and Dorchester though, certainly. Theyre usually just very different than this home in that theyre in better locations, older, and less suburban.
