Skiing is skiing, some places may be much but if you love to do it you will take what you can get. I'm not putting down CO I gave my opinion of the differences (just because it doesnt agree with your anti Buffalo agenda doesnt make it untrue). I live in the Southtowns & can be in HV within 40 minutes.
Colorado Springs is a good 3 hours from anywhere .......... Denver might be 1.5 to Keystone or A Basin if you have no traffic/weather issues.
My moving day is getting close.
I thank you all for the info.
I know people have different likes and dislikes.
I will keep my mind open and I will post what I think of Buffalo.
Talk to you all soon!
Interesting.......All of these places mentioned in the article are in the Enchanted Mountains region. That is only about an hour drive, give or take, depending on where you live in the Buffalo area. Here's a good map of Downhill Skiing spots in NY State: http://iloveny.com/Outdoors/skimap.aspx
Buffalolight, If I even need to justify posting on an internet discussion board here goes:I found this site when I was looking to relocate I used it to make my decision, learn about different areas, most times I do not need to post as the answers are there. I do not write in the Colorado boards much because I'm not an expert I just moved here! Also I spend most of time in the General US boards. I find it interesting the hostility in the WNY forums. Maybe you should ask yourself why you're on these boards. What are you trying to prove to yourself let alone the others who ask for opinions?

A very strange group, they dont take kindly to people who dont see everything just as they do.

What they don't take kindly to is gratuitous hectoring about how much their city sucks from people who seemingly have nothing better to do. Nor should they be expected to.
Speaking of skiing, how's the cross-country skiing? Are there parks all over Buffalo to xc ski or is it limited? How about around the city, within no more than an hour's drive? And where would you live if you were an avid xc skier and wanted to be within an easy commute of Grand Island (my wife's company has a division there and it would be a good move career-wise). I see from a snow map that south of the city has the most snow. Thanks.
