you are right about that. When my husband's son was 25 he died of testicular cancer, even though that was a decade ago it was horribly difficult for my husband to deal with and at times still is.

Yes. My experience with this is strong. Not from my own. But from having paid personal visits to the parents of some young boys fallen in the war. As a parent myself, years later, the memories still resonate.

Fortunately, my sons and their little ones live near me. It's a big deal. Big as it gets.

I allready have my home so what do i care? Just kidding. Not about having our own home. For years I watched as prices moved from below $180,000 on up to $700,000 for a home in Oxnard, CA. We never thought we would ever afford a home here. We even had a home built in Arizona and had planned on moving there instead. Then we watched the market crash around everyone and were happy we didn't own a home. We had been trying to buy and found that we were able to qualify for a home. That was back in 2010 and we are happy that we were finally able to buy a home of our own. A lot of people are like me though and want to pay off the debt that we have with this home.

Maybe the real question is what are you doing to prepare yourself for home ownership? Is your credit good? Have you saved a down payment? Do you have an emergency fund saved up? Prices do not always go up. Or maybe you decide that another state is where you want to live. By prepairing for the time that you can own a home you will be that much further along when you find something that you can afford.

As far as value, what is it that you value? I love living near the Pacific ocean. I love working where I work. We grew up here so living our life here has a lot of value for us.
