I want to put in my two cents. I moved here from Alabama (Birmingham) almost two years ago. This is my first election in California and frankly, I’m impressed. I’ve noticed that instead of attacking a party, most ads attack the policies, thus creating less Political Tribalism during elections. It’s a method of which I think is very healthy for the overall election season.

I would not live in Texas or Alabama, so why are you even here? The majority of voters do not think like you, nor do we care to hear your opinion.

Seriously, as an adult, you actually need another adult to tell you not to be that guy? No one cares about you or your ilk's conservative faux martyrdom, because none of us actually care when conservatives leave. We have enough high income liberals, to the point that we don't even miss your taxes!
As arrogant as this poster is, there’s some truth here. California is a deep, deep blue and it seems the people here want it that way. At least they keep voting in the insane leftist/socialists.

The California politicians fancy themselves as trailblazers and “rebels” to fight against Trump. One good thing is that even if newsom gets in, the socialist policies will likely be struck down by the now conservative Supreme Court.

And the high taxation will go just so far before the “high income liberals” get tired of it and wonder what they got themselves into. And too bad about not wanting to hear our opinions. If you don’t want to hear them, get off the board.

Your ideals, WizardOfRadical are everything that is ruining our great state - how arrogant and rude you are with that post. I'd say the same face-to-face with Jerry Brown. If you're not Jerry Brown, then you must be Gavin or a suck-up to both.

I can't wait to see if I stay in my beautiful state of CA or if I will be forced to take my tax dollars to a better less corrupt state in November. It will depend on who wins and the icing will be if the gas tax is repealed. Vote YES on 6! and especially get rid of the arrogance you see in Wizard's post and vote COX. Repeal the gas tax that jerry signed in without even telling US THE TAX PAYERS is worded to confuse to voters intentionally by our current governor (whom I suspect is WizardOfRadical). If you're okay with that then god help us.

I also oppose the sanctuary state policy as well as open borders and free healthcare for illegal immigrants. I also oppose soft on crime and hard on our police. You people seem to side with the criminals rather than our police. TAXPAYERS, NOT SO MUCH.

Make California Great Again. vote COX!

Startups rarely have income to report. The income tax rate matters little.

I do like a mix of parties....my home state is very red, but often still voted democrat for senators like daschle or Johnson merely because the republicans ran too far in front of themselves.

Chicago of course has its machine. The deals are done behind closed doors. It’s a fantastic place that for a long time was able to support the city’s largesse in spending. Now it’s broke despite having a great local economy.

Oddly enough I was considered liberal in the former, and conservative here. Cox would be a one term leader. He would not be very good as he would control nothing, but the next democratic nominee is going to know that the people of California are going to toss out someone wholly unfit to lead. That’s how you get better candidates.

This shouldn’t be a vote for or against trump. That election will have its day in 2 more years. This needs to be about California and who is going to be the leader. Newsome as the incumbent will most certainly win again. The question you need to ask yourself is if he’s good enough to lead us. California is a liberal state. That doesn’t change either way. Is Gavin good enough?

I am active with my local democratic party. I am proud to do God's work and keep Republicans on the fringe and out of state politics. Our work will not be finished until conservatives are purged from the coast.

ah, okay, so you don't need tax money from non-libs?

got it.

okay then, carry on.

someone is missing the point, but after eight years of Bama and Jerry Brown and a future of four to eight of his majesty Gavin, this does not surprise. Liberal brain-washing prevails.

Cox and Newsom are debating now (10:00 AM) - you can listen on KQED's website.

Someone should count the number of times Newsom brings up Trump. I wouldn’t be surprised if he brought up the Supreme Court issue but given his affair with the staffers wife, that may not be a good idea.
