Really?
It makes you wonder what kind of allowances are involved in the actual marriages of the people who believe such a thing?

" But the days will come when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them,
and then shall they fast in those days ."
( Mark 2:20 )
A marriage made in hell with punishment persuasion .
How lovely .
Not the kind of God I would want to meet in a dark alley .

You are focused on your own perceptions of human punishment.
And that of a non-existent hellhole from which you see things.

We all (humanity) have limited perspectives about God

He says His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His ways are not our ways

We know His thoughts by His Spirit which has this fruit which fulfills His purposes and His ways:- love, joy, peace, patience, long-suffering, self-control

We do need these qualities if we are ever to learn about God and the Divine

And being shown "His Ways " through His revealed word we know that a severe beating in hell is not His method to persuade the bride to think better of it and submit to the suitor .

Where is this hell?

Jas 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. So the tongue is set among our members, spotting all the body, and inflaming the course of nature, and being inflamed by Hell.
Jas 3:7 For every species of beasts, both indeed of birds, of creeping things, and of sea animals, is tamed, and has been tamed by the human species;
Jas 3:8 but no one of men is able to tame the tongue; it is an unrestrainable evil, full of death-dealing poison.

Hell is the place of punishment where the universalist theology states the suitor applies the appropriate
amount of pre-martial whippings , lashings , beatings to convince the bride that the bridegrooms charms
still viewed with disdain , detest , are preferable to the continued pre-spousal beatings .

Lol .... “brides” “grooms” are analogies

The Christian is not meant to worship signs, the same as the Jew was not meant to worship the signs either, they were to look for the “time”

Deu 4:15 Therefore you shall carefully watch over your souls, for you have not seen any likeness in the day Jehovah spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,
Deu 4:16 that you not deal corruptly, and make for yourselves a graven image, a likeness of any figure, the form of a male or female,
Deu 4:17 the form of any animal in the earth; the form of any winged bird that flies in the heavens;
Deu 4:18 the form of any creeping thing on the ground; the form of any fish in the waters under the earth;
Deu 4:19 and that you not lift up your eyes towards the heavens and shall see the sun, and the heavens, and you be drawn away and worship them, and serve them; which Jehovah your God has allotted to all the peoples under all the heavens.

Agreed

He’s getting carried away thing the words and symbols that have been used to convey “spiritual” ideas and concepts

The scriptures (and most if not all of our ancient writings) have so many signs, symbols in them that all religions have misunderstood in part

1 apple plus 2 oranges is 3 fruit

But 3 fruit does not necessarily mean apples and oranges, they could be any type
