I believe that you are lying to yourself and others here. Your theology is based on wishful thinking.

In this passage, destruction is shown to be in contrast to life.

So, one is not going to enter into life by going down the path that leads to destruction.

And to say otherwise, is not only a twisting of scripture but a perversion of logic; which can only be in conjunction with a reprobate mind (Romans 1:28).

Those who know that they do not have redemption latch on to teachings like this; because it tells them that they are not condemned. But the fact of the matter is that they are condemned; and that they hold onto beliefs like this because they have not and will not avail(ed) themselves of the propitiation of God, that He offers to them as a free gift.

Because in the hardness of heart, in their stubbornness and refusal to accept the offer of the free gift of salvation, they have only one fate: to be condemned to the lake of fire because their names have not been written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

So, in order to strengthen their position of rejecting the offer of Christ's free gift of salvation, they tell themselves and others that there is no condemnation for those who are outside of Christ Jesus...an obvious lie from the pit of hell; since believing that lie strengthens them in their resolve to continue to reject Christ which is the only method of salvation. Thus, in rejecting salvation, the lie that they have believed in sends them to hell in condemnation for ever.

That is the lie, JBF. We do not control our access to eternal life. that was done for us by Jesus. You keep trying to take credit for our salvation to eternal life but we have nothing to do with that. Jesus did that for us and we can have faith that He did because it is TRUE.

We have dross in our spirits no matter what we believe that must be removed either by repentance or by kolasis after our death and rebirth as spirit, but we are "saved as by fire" by what Jesus did so life is not an issue.

Your belief in a God who would condemn His children for their failures is the sign of a reprobate mind, IMO. Your belief that He would punish them when they already must suffer consequences for their failures is further evidence of a reprobate mind. Why on earth would God condemn ANY of His children rather than correct them, either in this life or the next????

1) I do not believe that God punishes His children for their failures (while he does discipline and chasten them (Hebrews 12:5-11)); because those who are cast into hell are not the sons of God (which can be inferred from John 1:12).

2) I cannot boast over the fact that I have faith in Christ; except to say that when I heard the message of the gospel, I did not reject it. Salvation is by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

3) That we must have faith in Christ in order to be saved is a basic doctrine of holy scripture (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 5:1-2, John 14:6, Matthew 7:13-14).
