Not really. Quite comfortable down here.

Disturbing numbers, Chicago is such a troubled city. I wonder how high the murder rate would be if you leave out the 'safe' parts of Chicago. The highest in the nation probably.

I read the article in the link and there's no real explanation as to why there's this sudden outburst of violence other than that 'it's gang related'. Perhaps it's the weather or there's something in the water.

Chicago hoods on south and west side is not gentrified like NYC, LA, DC, Boston plus the city is disconnected between Chicago NYC like areas and south side. Chicago doesn’t enforce laws like NYC.

Crazy how concentrated it is in Chicago:

North Side/Central: 1 shot
Northwest Side: 2 shot
South Side: 34 shot
West Side 38 shot

Four neighborhoods grouped on the south and west sides with 7% of the city's population had 60% of the shootings this weekend. Virtually all the others were in neighborhoods boarding those.

Neighborhoods from the near south side up through the north side and northwest side had around 1,400,000 people and one shooting.

1,400,000 people = 1 shooting
200,000 people = 45 shootings

Well there was a sudden burst of mass-shootings in the Austin/Lawndale neighborhood on the west side as well as the Auburn Gresham on the south.

There were six shooting incidents with a total of 32 victims.

Why are police methods that NYPD use that Chicago doesn’t?

It seems that Chicago cops do foot patrols also don’t they?

Chicago has TONS of cops. I remember visiting my relative that lives in the Englewood neighborhood and I swear I couldn't go 2 minutes without seeing a cop somewhere. They are literally everywhere it seems, well in the bad areas, and yet the shootings don't stop. Chicago just has a different culture and environment than NYC. What happened in NYC obviously isn't going to work in the Chi. It's a totally different beast.
