Just an fyi, I never said Irvine had a skyline. Its way too spread out. Kerrtown wanted to make it a skyline battle. When I mentioned the amount of high-rises, it was too say it has alot of jobs, because Kerrtown wanted to say it was small.
Yes, its more scattered for better or worse..
Another reason why Houston might have more highrises, many jobs in LA are entertainment related . Studios and creative companies prefer campuses and midrises.

I think culture is a factor too. Most west coasters don't seem to care about skyline as they seem to be more concerned with natural scenery.
If we look at the number of high rise buildings (over 40 stories) in both the city of LA and the city of Houston, there are actually quite a few more in Houston despite LA being twice as large:
Houston: 39 high rises
Los Angeles: 26 high rises
just asking where you get your 'data' from? Have you been to DTLA lately? There are APARTMENT BUILDINGS +hotels taller than 40 stories nowdays, all built in the last 10-15 years, I can't believe its only "26".
But this thread is Irvine vs Sugarland, not DTLA vs Houston.

Have I been to DTLA recently? More than Downtown Houston and I live here now. Up until the first week of March, I was working in DTLA 2-3 weeks out of the month. Our facility is near 8th and Figueroa. I opted to fly back and forth instead of moving back.

The Houston guys always want to it into a skyline battle cause they would never win on the street level. Downtown la is far more interesting and urban than Downtown Houston.

Well, no.
Someone challenged the facts I provided and I provided a source showing it was right.
