I’m under no impression tiny Providence is more known than Milwaukee. It’s less than 1/3rd it’s population. But I don’t think people know much about Milwaukee other than it exists. Now that you say ‘Brewers’ that does remind me-beer. But it’s not that I don’t know anything about not the northeast. I just don’t know about Milwaukee because it’s like the 5th city of the Midwest. Not know to be extreme anything-other than cold I guess. I’ve said like 4 times i think it’s overlooked.
It’s not a city thats ever popped up in literature or academic literature for anything-for me...it barely even gets C-D attention.
Is there an accent? Is there an attitude? What’s the economy? Why and when was it founded. Virtually al I’ve ever read of Milwaukee is that it’s segregated.
Penn State is located in State College, PA. That doesn't mean State College, PA is a more prominent city than say, Baltimore.
But i definitely wouldn’t know state college existed if inot for Penn State. State College and Providence are by no mean analogous or even comparable.
Patriots are closer to Providence than Boston and it’s definitely Rhode Island’s #1 team. And because they’re the New England Patriots not the Massachusetts Patriots that is a pro sports team for Rhode Island.

Just like people know Jefferson City, MO or Jackson, MS.
