Yeah, I see now. Boston is a very outdoor city. Every weekend people are always going to the beach or hiking or something. And in the winter, NH or Wachusett. I miss that because weekends here around NYC are bars, but in the days can get the same.
I feel Chicago would be an ideal city for you. No?
Chicago is definitely one of my favorite cities.
I'm just not thrilled about the fiscal problems plaguing the city/state. I would like to see that blow over before moving there.
That said, it's at the top of my list for my next relocation, along with Philadelphia.

True people are always trying to get outdoors when the weather permits even sometimes when it doesn’t. Apple picking in NH, ice skating at frog pond, Nantasket, Martha’s Vineyard, Carson beach, blue hills, the arboretum, Mattapan bike trail, Boston common etc etc are all really regular and common activities. Never mind the popularity of some of the largest neighborhood parks. People try to get out before they have to hunker down for the winter I guess. It’s also extremely walkable and so walking to just about anywhere is normal.

Apple-picking and sunbathing at a local beach does not make someone outdoorsy. People in Missouri are way more outdoorsy than people in Massachusetts. I briefly dated two different men from Missouri, and they both loved to camp, fish, hike, hunt, jet-ski, etc. Very different from the indoorsy types of the Northeast!

There is no such thing as hiking in Missouri. Only walking.
Also who is hunting or fishing more outdoorsy than sitting on a beach. You’re just sitting in a blind or a rock

Your the defacto gisruntled former employee of New England.
I’m sorry to say, but you’re very rarely correct.
