Dover, DE. A state capital of another Mid-Atlantic state with a similar small population in the 30K's.

Los Alamos, NM I suppose? Since both towns, were involved in the Manhattan Project during World War 2(to develop a nuclear weapon). And both aren't too far away, from a bigger city(former being Santa Fe, Oak Ridge with Knoxville).

Ah what the heck: Rockford, IL

Macon, GA is a pretty flat area not too far from a large city. Also, both are known to be rather dangerous.

Troy, MI

Springfield, IL? Both are Springfields, with a similar population and area size, Each Inbetween St. Louis and another city (Kansas City, MO or Tulsa, OK for Springfield MO & Chicago, IL for Springfield IL). Both are also in similar regions of the country. The cities they're in between are within an hour and a half to three hours and a half away. Demographically they aren't too far apart either.

Alexandria, VA.

Hoboken, NJ. Both are upscale suburban cities right across the river from a large East Coast city with a historical look, and clustered with boutique shops and restaurants.

Arlington, VA

Durham, NC: Both are similar in population and demographics. Both states have coastal and mountainous regions, and are both in the South. Both are secondary cities within their metro areas, and are known for having research center and emphasize higher education.

Berkeley, CA: Similar demographically & economically, both emphasize higher education and are secondary/tertiary cities within their metros. Density wise, Berekley is more dense, but Arlington's size is larger.

Naperville, IL or Ann Arbor, MI: Similar demographically & economically, both emphasize higher education and are secondary/tertiary cities within their metros/CSA.

Next: Newark, NJ

Oakland, CA is a smaller city, located a distance from its parent. Both don't have the best reputations, but they are getting better.

Rochester, NY
