So I suppose you can think of it as rotten leaves, but the rest of us will enjoy the smells, sights, pumpkins, apples, bright greens offset by the brilliant reds etc.

Signs of Clinical Depression: Symptoms to Watch For
JViello: You are confusing CLINICAL DEPRESSION, which is a severe form of depression with SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER, which may happen only during changes in the seasons. Some people experience sadness in the summer, and others in the fall/winter.

A person suffering from CLINICAL DEPRESSION, needs to be on psychotropic drugs in order to be stabilized. Someone suffering from SAD/SEASONAL AFFECTIVE DISORDER gets stabilized with a special lights therapy. Most people suffering from SAD feel better when even in the winter, the sun shines, and if that person goes to a warm climate like the Caribbean, Florida, or Southern California, the sadness goes away immediately. Completely different for someone that suffers from CLINICAL DEPRESSION.

Trees are kind of lame this year. Better than last year, but still much less impressive than other years. Probably had too much rain late in the summer/early fall.

Leaves are so striking this year.

To be honest I dont remember back past 2008 but this is how I remember fall around here, bright, vivid leaf colors. The best time to see is with the morning sun before the light shines from directly above. Just beautiful this year. Finally.

And its nice not to see spots like we did with last years salt, rain, heat.

so it looks like this year 1 month into the fall (Sept.21-Oct.24) , 85% of the trees changed colors. 15% still have green leaves. 20% already dropped their leaves. . So it looks like winter with the bare trees in some areas and its not even end of October.

Might as well continue with this thread. I've been hearing and seeing picture of trees changing colors already from Ohio to NorthEast. Even I witnessed a few around Fairfield County. I personally think these individual trees are just stressed. It's only August 10th.

However, I took this photo in the distance on I-84 in southern NY around the Dutchess/Putnam border. Couldnt tell if it was just specific tree colors or leaf change. I would think a deep or all green would be the theme at this point in time.

If you have or see some tree changes please post a picture, I'm curious to see.

Also hard to believe because we did have a late start with leaf blooms this year from a long cool spring. Then July Had 4 weeks of Heat and humidity. But past couple weeks we've been below normal to normal. Hurricane Sandy and Irene might have stressed them out a bit from their natural cycles.. Salt, wind, and snow can do that.
