Looks like there's more peak colors in Connecticut then other states nearby. Seen the start since September in CT so it makes sense.

Here we are... another year goes by ... While Fall is still a month away I remember seeing colors mid August of last year and that's rare for near the coast.. It was a sure sign of things to come.

All my leaves came down in Early November as opposed to December in recent years.. It was an early 2013 leaf change & drop and then a late Spring 2014 bloom. Will we get another early change this year?

So lets keep an eye on the colors and post in here to keep track as we been doing over the years..

But imagine seeing this Early August on a Very Healthy Mature Tree? In Ohio

My cherry trees are starting to turn. Just a couple of leaves here and there, but its noticeable. They usually start to turn in August, but they are a couple of weeks ahead of schedule.

I'm noticing the opposite. My grass and trees have never looked better in early August. The combination of above average moisture (spread out as opposed to a single system) and more modest temperatures keep me looking more like early June!

As you noticed we've been in a warm spell past couple weeks, this has helped continue and flourish growing season. Vegetable gardens and Landscape.

I'm sure you notice there was more color here and there last year around this time which was insane to see. Feels more normal this year now with everything still mostly green. (doesn't fit my theory well for severe cold winter).

While we did hit 90s last year in September on the 11th but we dropped to 30s/40s more often where frost advisories were out on the 18th. The cooler nights last year helped with the colors.

I'm not getting that feeling this year yet. Maybe after mid month we see that transition.

So far things looking normal as far as leaf color. Just some scattered changes here and there.

Just want to add, if we stay as dry as we are and get some cold nights, we'll start to see the process pick up.

Next week we will have that cooler air. That means another 3 days of warmth.

Maybe a bigger shot of cooler air by mid month which will push the color changes.

Already seeing it in spots here. It's crazy. Moreso on the small trees, but a handful of the larger ones are starting to look like that already.

One of the trees in front of my house already has its canopy completely red. Quite ridiculous if you ask me, lol. Also, one of the larger trees in my backyard already has a few small orange patches. I have also seen a few young Maples around Stamford with up to half of each completely res.

Needless to say, I'm not too fond of the meaning of all of this... :sigh:

Very scattered Maples and Tulip Trees changing.

But 95% is still green right now. Should drop to 85% by mid month.
