Want to see what a wet summer does to Fall Colors??

Last year was 2nd wettest Summer in Hartford since 1905! 21.86”.

This Summer only 9.96”!

August Averagetemp about the same.

Early September last year was cooler.

So a wet summer plus cool end of August into September equaled crazy early color changes.

It's getting real close to the change in northern fairfield county. I would say one week - week + 1/2 till color is wide spread and really eye catching; 2 weeks + until peak perhaps.
Funny last year, but 1 week earlier, I spent the weekend at a cousins weekend house in the poconos. It was peak then. Super early IMO, even for the poconos. But seriously beautiful! Never got as pretty here as it was there last year. Hope it was just a fluke for us. Really looking forward to a colorful fall in CT!

Anyone have an update from their location or travels. I know you guys aren't living in a cave.

We are all interested.

I got some leaves changing now. Some trees are looking crispy and sickly, others showing first signs of color.

Its going to be a bad year for colors IMO. Either fast drop off or dull colors. Don't see it being a vibrant year. Maybe 1 or 2 trees.

Here is one near me today that's just like...I give up.

On I-95 between Norwalk and New Haven I have seen several trees with tints of color change.

At this very moment I'm in the tropics, so no worries for me..... for now. lol

Default For upcoming leaf peeprs - Found this beautiful Connecticut foliage pictorial

This guy is one of the most prominent photographers in the northeast. I'm a follower of their Facebook fan page and I just grabbed the link to this fall foliage pictorial of the scenic Litchfield Hills. Here is the link to their new September blog, which is loaded with great landscape shots.
