Hi, thanks for the report. Don't understand why people cant just say something about what they see out there.

We seem to be falling behind normal now. Trees holding the Summer warmth longer but the dryness is hurting their colors. 85% green out there. 15% changing

I'd say we're getting to moderate here in NW Hartford County. Very beautiful reds coming through and popping up everywhere. Birch (yellows) down about two weeks ago. I've already had my backpack blower out twice this year cleaning the driveway and front yard.

Southern Litchfield county is very pretty in spots. Mostly maples and birch but some very bright yellows along with some orange in the mix.

Here in Trumbull still a lot of green. Some have been changing but very slowly.

Today on reddit's front page (with almost 7000 upvotes) is a photo of foliage from Seymour:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/commen...ekend_getaway/

The OP says it's of Seymour though someone else in the thread says the address of the location is in Derby. Maybe one is where the camera is and the other is across the river where it's pointing? (haven't looked into the spot).

Anyway, it's not everyday you see the valley get this level of attention! There's a link to the source as well, which is a larger picture. I believe it's from a previous year, not this year.

Don't forget about this site guys. You can do your own report and it will get posted on the map. Even prove it with a picture.

This shows more reality because it lets a network of people do the reporting as opposed to an estimate

Yeah it seems odd that portions of Wisconsin are green and butt up against northern Michigan where the color is completely gone. Jay

Click the link guys. It's interactive. Looks like no reports from a random Green spot I clicked. Not everyone knows about this site.

Remember 5 things..
  • It goes by an average of all reports
  • Not everyone is honest
  • Some don't know the difference between peak and turning
  • Remember the microclimates or specie differences. I have one area that's totally bare here. I would report Gone for "that spot"
