It was backed up to 44 when I was going to work. I took backroads from there.

wow I'm way late but I share the frustration with the OP.. i live near the Byam section of Greenwich and i swear most of the accidents happen near exit 4 going North.. It's so crazy I just decided to leave an extra hour early for work (I work in Norwalk) You never know who is going to hit what..

HOW DO THEY HAVE A 100 FOOT RAMP TO THE LIGHT???? CARS GET BACKED UP TO THE 3RD LANE SO NOW YOU HAVE 2 LANES ON THE INTERSTATE DURING RUSH HOUR AND CARS IN THE MIDDLE LANE DOING 60MPH WHILE CARS IN THE RIGHT LANE ARE STOPPED TO GET OFF THE EXIT...

DO THEY NOT SEE THAT? THATS STUPIDTY!!!
Yeah the Arch Street exit can be pretty bad in the mornings and on the days I do get off this exit it's a pain because when you do get to the light you have at least 4 or more cars still running the red light (they don't care about no turn on red) all the time.

IMHO a lot of these roads the DOT should revisit them because they may of been timed for traffic like 10+ years ago

Eminent domain.. take away all lane and expand 5 lanes each way Greenwich to Bridgeport, 4 lanes Each direction from Bridgeport to Milford.

Im starting to like the toll idea at the border to get this done.

And no..... 4 lanes will not do it... take a look in Stamford where there is 4 lanes...not enough today. 1990s would have been...not for today, not for tomorrow.

Last post for now I swear!

Speaking about the Parkway.. I've notice 80 MPH in the 2nd lane is like not fast enough anymore.. I'm not going to do 90 for you.. What the heck is up with this? I get tired of people tailing me and I'm already doing 75..

I agree - the Merritt is ridiculous. I avoid it like the plague, especially at night when >25% of drivers have their high beams on.

I've noticed this the most in the stretch from Greenwich > ~New Canaan-Norwalk. People drive super fast along there, where 85-90 seems to be the norm. I'll admit I drive pretty fast, but I won't get pressured for doing 75 east of Norwalk.

I witness this bullying going on daily all over CT. Tailing someone so dangerously close to get them to move over, even if they're passing cars in the right lane. It's terrible. We should really have an aggressive driving hotline.

I go through this everynight and it sucks. Im usually doing 65-70 and minding my own business ans some idiot will be flashing brights doing 90 and actually trying to "move" you out of the way. Those are the drivers that are up your butt and swaying left to right in your mirror as if there is magic lane on the shoulder or in the yellow line in the middle of the parkway. If there is traffic, it sucks.....when there is not, you have to deal aggressive idiots.......Cant win....

I have no problem with people going as fast as they can safely go in the left lane. I think our speed limits in this state are WAY too low.

But you should be able to travel in the right lane at any reasonable speed at or above the speed limit without being hassled. That's just plain contentious.
