The Merritt was a dream ride today from Norwalk to I-91 today around 7:30 AM. Just have to catch it at the right times

I agree with slowing down in the Tunnel. It's a long and dangerous stretch and even slowing down to below speed limit may be appropriate at times. You should never assume there is nothing in there such as debris or a pot hole or even a deer; I've seen it all in there.

I took a one-day trip to southern New Hampshire yesterday (May 29). I did not encounter any delay at all in CT, or MA. No accidents, no construction tie-ups, nothing. It was like a dream trip. In MA., north of Springfield, they had the far right lane of I-91 closed off, due to tree trimming. Even so, I was doing 45 mph, and this closure was at least 3 miles long. When coming back at night, there was no tree trimming, of course. I wish all of you could have a good driving experience like this, at least once in a while. Makes me want to travel more often!

I agree that people suck at driving, but it's simple math. More cars = more congestion. It's not rocket science.

feels good to be on vacation and not having to deal with this every day. It's crazy how many email messages you can get in a day if you don't keep on top of it.

All I wanted to do was pick up a sandwich a few miles away at Hubba Hubba in Stamford.

Saturday June 9, 2012 12:25-1:15pm. Norwalk to Stamford to Norwalk. 14 Miles. 50 Minutes Round Trip. I-95. No Accidents.

HERES HOW IT LOOKS WHEN YOU'RE GETTING BACK ON HEADING NORTH. STRAIGHT AHEAD...NO GAP...DOING 5-10MPH STOP AND GO.

Cambium, thanks for showing what a few in another thread vehemently disagreed with. I'll update that thread with your proof.

Terrible traffic. Makes one really feel for drivers who really have to be somewhere - like that ambulance driver. Imagine people worrying about being late for work every day, or people rushing to get to jury duty. They lock the jury room door here and make you come back another day. People trying to get to medical appointments, etc. It really takes over a person's life and not in a good way.
