I say Lets just do it and I hate the idea but lets do it and add the toll. Most of cost would be re-couped quick with all those vehicles paying $1.00 each time they pass.

Not 20 but just make it 4 lanes each way plus shoulder. Tear down buildings, bridges and rebuild them. It would create jobs and companies would re-hire same employees(if they wait, lol)..or just get a temporary spot to conduct business.

Make a law that there is to be no building on land within 200 feet of I-95.

Has anyone passed through New Haven where the wind turbine is? Looks like a nice new wider bridge/road is being installed.
I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing Corridor Improvement Program
Nice and new and wide - 5 Lanes each way.
It is not that easy. ConnDOT proposed widening I-95 from New Haven to Greenwich about 20 years ago and met with very stiff opposiiton from the towns it went through. The local planning agencies, which by law set where transportation money is spent, were against the proposal so it was dropped in favor of spending on mass transit.

The bridge pictured is the Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge, also known as the Q Bridge. It is part of a $2 billion project that reconstructs about 7 miles of I-95 in Branford, East Haven and New Haven. The first half of the bridge will be completed this summer while the entire project including the reconstruction of the I-95/I-91/Route 34 interchange immediately to the west of it will be completed by 2017. Jay

Speaking of Branford. Add that to my list of sweet spots in CT. What a beautiful town. Especially North Branford near Lidyhites Hill.

Today's victims in Westport on I95: One Driver Hurt in Two-Vehicle Crash in Westport | The Daily Westport

Not sure what the cause was but to end up like that I think speed was most likely involved. What really gets me are drivers who merge in and out of lanes, trying to go around cars or get a car length ahead when all 3 lanes of 95 are moving at a snail pace and each lane has it's individual speed ups and slow downs. Honestly if I stay in 1 lane I get along faster than most idiots I see merging from lane to lane. If you're one of those people, I'm sorry but 9/10 I drive by you and stay ahead by keeping in 1 lane.

FINALLY someone with the same feelings that irk me!!

I see this crap all the time since I work the graveyard shift I'm leaving Norwalk headed back to Greenwich around 8:40-9:10 AM

Some of the stuff I see is just stupid..

I avoid the first lane going south in Stamford because the people who always move over at the last min because they don't know that first lane is for the Elm street exit.
