When I read about people diving on cars to save them (from being stolen) I can only hope they are trying to save a Mclaren or maybe an Enzo. Hell maybe even a Carrera 4S. I might pop off a couple shots to save a Carrera, but a camry forget about it.
So people who leave their doors unlocked "were asking for it?" Do women who dress provocatively and get raped "ask for it" too? Just because you have the opportunity to commit a crime, doesn't mean you have to or should. Then again you're a self proclaimed "activist," and it's not hard to guess which group(s) you're affiliated with, so I don't expect you to understand this.

Many liberals are very protective of criminals.

So much so that it’s quite disturbing.

But of course! How are they supposed to vote if they're locked up?

Why do these loser juveniles continue to get released to their parent or guardian without facing a true punishment? Well, they'll turn 18 eventually. Have to make sure they're out so they can vote!

I don't dislike all Democrat ideas. I actually believe they have some good ones that could truly benefit all citizens. But they get it so wrong on this subject. Very wrong.

Many people on that side who consider themselves "activists" are just virtue-signaling keyboard warriors, full stop.

Yep. There are in fact several ideas that they have that are quite good, but they've lost me on this idea of letting criminals get away with everything, maybe because they view it as a form of reparation? I dunno. As I've said before, I think Lamont has done a fine job of guiding this state through the pandemic, but if he refuses to put his foot down on the issue of rising crime, I can't vote for him next time around. I know he and his Democratic allies want to lower the prison population, but they need to understand that sometimes incarceration is the only solution to dealing with truly awful, antisocial, irredeemable people. And yes, in some cases, that does include juveniles. I mean, what's their solution to dealing with these thugs who open fire on residents when they notice their car being stolen or when they run over pedestrians? Art therapy?

A stolen vehicle vehicle full of thugs in ski masks snatched a lady's purse in broad daylight outside a Bed Bath & Beyond in Southington. Not sure if they were juveniles. The vehicle was later involved in another robbery in Waterbury before crashing.

Via an acquaintance, I know of someone assaulted in the Post Mall lot by Macys yesterday. By juveniles, who stole her purse, assaulted her, then sped away. During the chase, they hit a 17 year old girl. They were caught but released by end of day.

Juvenile violent crime is soaring statewide due to L-I-B-E-R-A-L-s love for criminals.

Eventually even in a wildly blue state like Ct, reform will occur.

In 2021, NOVA barely went for the Dems in the governor's race.

Loving Lawlessness is the Democrat's M.O. at this point.

Crime can be debated. It's violent crime that we really have to go after. The trouble is prison for rehabilitation, detention or punishment. These days when you miss out on work, earning and doing things it compresses life. Employers are still a bit reluctant to hire someone with a criminal record.

Most crime I think is drug related on some level. Addicts steal for money to buy drugs, criminal gangs fight each other to sell drugs and some are caught in the middle. Decriminalization and rehab would be the answer but you still go after the dealers for the point of intent alone. Whoever gave that 7th grader fentanyl needs to be in prison.

Crime lowers property values although it can also lead to gentrification later on. See NYC 70's vs today

I'm fine with decriminalizing and legalizing pot, as we've done, but other drugs? Absolutely not. And rehab can only do so much. The people using have to have some skin in the game and seriously commit to getting and staying clean if rehab is the approach. It's the same thing with this country's obesity epidemic: we can scream at Congress to help pay for our medical bills, but it wouldn't be nearly the issue it is if people made the slightest effort to eat properly and took some responsibility for their own health. If the individual refuses to lift a finger to improve oneself, rehab is pointless, and change is impossible.

PD: Teen arrested for third time this week after attempted car theft in Watertown
https://www.wfsb.com/news/pd-teen-ar...a4b6a0e6a.html

Aside from covid, this is the biggest problem facing the state of CT right now. Keep your eye on how legislators responnd this session. Will they try and fix this?
