Doesn't this feel good??? WOW! Finally!

The NNW wind is making it feel chilly though but I'll take the sun over snow right now.

For those wondering how January 2024 went into the books...

January 2024 ended 3.1 F above normal at Bridgeport (34.5 F) and 4.3 F above normal at Bradley. Looking at NWS Bridgeport, this January was the 8th warmest in the last 20 years. So roughly, right in the middle of above normal January's we see every few years.

No doubt the sun is welcome.

As far as temps, it does look like this coming weekend (10th - 12th) there may be a mild surge of warm air across the Atlantic states below northern New England, so we may see some mild temps by Sunday:

The pattern looks warmer than average at least until mid month based on CPC forecast:

Curious about your thoughts on why with cold high pressure and a NNW wind as opposed to a southerly one we still have (albeit only slightly) above normal temperatures as opposed to below. Not what you think, this isn't me thinking about "climate change" because if that were the case then it's not like it would be subzero under the same conditions 100 years ago, it would still be "near normal" and clearly we've had much colder weather before under these conditions, even a year ago this week and in late Dec of 2022, however short lived they were. Maybe lack of snow cover especially in this case even where the wind is coming from?

I'm sure there's a reason, but you would know more than me on it and I'm very curious (again, not leading on or trolling at all), thanks!

After all the rainstorms and flooding in January...it seems Feb is playing it quite. LOL. Looks like very little change in the weather for a while, sunny, dry, and close to seasonal temperatures or a bit above by late week. It looks like no chance of any precip at all until well into next week (maybe Tue/Wed):
