NWS Boston just put this out at 7:12 Pm...it shows well how the snow line decreases from NW to SE (and how close it seems to follow I-84 - lol). Of course this is just a rough prediction, but if one drives from Great Barrington, MA (expected 12 inches) to Groton, CT (expecting 3 - 4 inches)...they would see quite a difference.

Although still below normal for the season like most of the Tri-State and middle Atlantic region - NWS Bridgeport picked up some ground today with 7 inches of snowfall. The deficit is now 7.3 inches:

Snow showers are expected Thursday night which will produce one-to-two inches of additional snow across Connecticut through Friday at 7 a.m. EST.

Interestingly enough...if the season were to end today, NWS Bridgeport would not be inside the top 10 least snowy winters since 1948. Close...but not inside the top 10. 1980/81 has edged this year out already:

Not sure how NWS Bradley stands as of now.

I was worried my snowblower would not start, had not used it in 3 years. She ran fine, though the snow was way too wet, the snowblower really struggled to throw it.

Looking ahead, Thur looks like a really light and moisture starved system, most of the moisture should be concentrated north of Connecticut/Long Island/NYC. Another round with more moisture looks possible for Sat, though it should be a mix of snow/rain with little effect. After Sat, pretty quite weather if you trust the models, nothing down the road of note until a system near Feb 24th.

Rest of this week into the weekend should see several days with sunshine and highs mid 30's to 40 F ...so we should see some pretty decent melting. Today should be bright sunshine without a cloud in the sky:

Enjoy the sun again, THIS IS A PERFECT winter pattern for me. Snowstorm followed by Sun and Cool weather. Why can't it be like this for 3 months?

Big storm potential around the 23rd, don't ask for details until 1 hour before its over us. LOL

Clipper Thursday night

Pattern this weekend as the Jet dips in the East there may be a chance of snow again Saturday depending where the bottom of the Jet Stream setsup, it may miss to our south
