Haven't you heard what she said. We are all black because we all came from Africa. So next time when they ask for race I am putting down black.

I know she's awesome!

She is an artist. Maybe this is an elaborate case of performance "art?"

Lol, this woman is awesome.

Get a tan, slop on some foundation, wear some wigs, and then go out and claim to be black, and everyone believes it, it cannot get any better than that. One look at her you know she is not black, and she is sure as hell not black enough to face what a "real" black person would face in regards to discriminatory practices. There are millions of white people who are darker than her made up self, being white does not mean some bright white, just as being black does not mean pitch black. This woman is not only white, she is very white, more white than millions of whites even with her make up and tan.

And this whole "black and white culture" thing, WTF is that? Is there some black culture that a person belongs to because of genetics? (Genetics she does not have). Is there some white culture club going on? Because I am white and sure as hell do not know anything about it.

What we know about this white woman is that she was masquerading as a black woman. For whatever reason, when she wasn't victimized as she clearly assumed was normal, she concocted 8 separate scenarios where she was a victim of hate crime. She alleged that evil white people were terrorizing her and her family because of the colour of her lily white skin.

It's a black and white issue insofar as she wanted society to believe that white people are against black people, and that white people terrorize black people for no reason. Other than that, it's not about black and white.

Yes and those are the micro-issues so to speak. Not that they aren't important but con artists and scammers are a dime a dozen. Do you honestly think this story would have gotten as much attention if it didn't elicit these larger, macro-issues? Like it or not it does raise larger issues of racial identity.

It's sad that she taught, as it gave her a forum to spread her lies to so many vulnerable people.

Paula Abdul never claimed to be black. Thurgood Marshall had more color than that picture showed, and neither he nor Dorothy Dandridge were actually biracial--both had "black" ancestry dating to before the turn of the 20th century.

People today tend to think all light-skinned blacks prior to 1970 must have been biracial, but they almost never were.

Fine, as long as you're willing to stay black when you apply for your business loan.

As long as you're willing to stay black when trying to get upper-middle class whites to buy your service.

As long as you're willing to stay black when the police jack you up.

She surely does have a lot of stories!
  • Born in a teepee
  • Parents hunted with bow and arrow
  • Parents abused her
  • Of mixed white, black and American Indian heritage (oh well, 2 out of 3 are true)
  • Has naturally curly hair
  • Had cervical cancer
  • Doesn't talk to either of her bio parents
  • Is in court proceedings to have one of her adopted black siblings be under her custody
  • Claims said sibling is actually her brother
  • Has a bio dad who's black, who she does talk to (shows pictures of him but it's been found he is not related to her)
  • Bio dad (the black one) has bone cancer
  • She's been raped while under the influence of a date rape drug
  • Has an abusive ex-husband
  • Has received 8 threatening mail packages, some of which were received into a locked P.O. box with no postage
  • A rope appeared in the rafters of her residence, meant as a threat, even though that was deemed unfounded by investigators
  • Anyone who says she's not black "doesn't understand the difference between race and ethnicity"
  • Anyone who says she's not black is wrong
