Her mother believed in living off the land; they lived in the middle of nowhere.
Get a tan, slop on some foundation, wear some wigs, and then go out and claim to be black, and everyone believes it, it cannot get any better than that. One look at her you know she is not black, and she is sure as hell not black enough to face what a "real" black person would face in regards to discriminatory practices. There are millions of white people who are darker than her made up self, being white does not mean some bright white, just as being black does not mean pitch black. This woman is not only white, she is very white, more white than millions of whites even with her make up and tan.
And this whole "black and white culture" thing, WTF is that? Is there some black culture that a person belongs to because of genetics? (Genetics she does not have). Is there some white culture club going on? Because I am white and sure as hell do not know anything about it.
Well no it is an issue. As much as people want to make this a black and white matter, no pun intended, it isn't just about her lies and deceit. It brings up broader issues of racial identity. Just because some want to be conclusory and one-dimensional about this story, doesn't mean others should be attacked for wanting to discuss these broader issues.
What we know about this white woman is that she was masquerading as a black woman. For whatever reason, when she wasn't victimized as she clearly assumed was normal, she concocted 8 separate scenarios where she was a victim of hate crime. She alleged that evil white people were terrorizing her and her family because of the colour of her lily white skin.
It's a black and white issue insofar as she wanted society to believe that white people are against black people, and that white people terrorize black people for no reason. Other than that, it's not about black and white.

Yes and those are the micro-issues so to speak. Not that they aren't important but con artists and scammers are a dime a dozen. Do you honestly think this story would have gotten as much attention if it didn't elicit these larger, macro-issues? Like it or not it does raise larger issues of racial identity.
What's all the noise about Hillary Clinton; is she black, too? I'm just here to say this NAACP lady is black. If Thurgood Marshall, Paula Abdul and Dorothy Dandridge can be black, then so can she. She's about as black as those other ppl are. I also have a little secret: Everybody is black. Who really cares?
Paula Abdul never claimed to be black. Thurgood Marshall had more color than that picture showed, and neither he nor Dorothy Dandridge were actually biracial--both had "black" ancestry dating to before the turn of the 20th century.
People today tend to think all light-skinned blacks prior to 1970 must have been biracial, but they almost never were.
If Bruce Jenner can become a woman and this white woman can become black then there goes all government contract set asides. Although I have believed myself to be a 52 year old white man in the past few months I now "identify" as a 60 year old black woman. I am thinking about starting up a contracting business; my race and gender should now be an advantage.

Of course Rachel is supporting claims that there was abuse in the family ... she needs people to believe that she had to hunt with a bow and arrow when she was hungry, and that her parents beat her siblings with a baboon whip. She wants to be a victim, and she wants to turn others into victims as well. She's a nutbar.

Anyone who says she's not black "doesn't understand the difference between race and ethnicity"
