I would be interested in knowing more about their rep as well...here in Central Jersey they don't have a good reputation at all, but when we looked at homes in SC folks thought they were great...

No matter the state, it is the same company and the same problems either do, or will, exist.
(By the way, I sent you a direct message.)

I just moved my furniture from NJ to CC this week and found "Two Men and a Truck" of Dover to be a very good experience. Do not confuse them with Two Men in a Truck of Magnolia. Not that they're bad, I just have no opinion. Any questions send me a DM.

Little eggplant, My house was shaking Friday from the Bulldozers. I'll DM you.

Joe, thank you to you and Sharon both for the photos of our house's initial excavation! Vic was excited to see his man-cave basement taking shape. Great 19 second video you sent along also. Appreciate the time you spent taking the pictures and sending them to us. Bay Hill here we come!!!

Default Spring Arbor

[quote=mtnest130;18417035]We pay $188 and $20 HOA group insurance for the outside . It includes grass cutting, snow removal, mulching , weeding, clubhouse, outside maintenance(door painting, roof etc) What sold us was the yearly real estate taxes . They said that they are app. $1800 in De. Here in Pa we are paying almost $8000. That is the fee for the singles. I do not know what the fee is for the carriage homes.

We had looked at CC also and really liked it but it was too far from my family in Pa. Spring Arbor is only 50 minutes from our home in Pa.

We looked at all of the plus 55 communities in DE that still had sales offices on site (means more younger people). We quickly decided that McKee built what we wanted. We looked at CC but it was too far from NJ, NY and grandkids.

We currently pay about $1600 in real estate taxes for a carriage house but that will be reduced in our second year as seniors.

We absolutely love Spring Arbor. The people are terrific and that is the most important factor to us. All of the homes are well built and reasonably priced. My only complaint is the lack of fine dining nearby.

I've been away fro awhile and have been catching up on the progress of somne of the posters as they get one step closer to the day of retiring in Delaware. I have spent the winter in RI and have been searching for property in DE, as we would like to get away from the cold winters up here in Westerly. I'm thinking about spending some time in DE to get a feel for the area and to take acloser look at some properties. The only time I have to get away from work is winter, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of any homes being rented for about a month in the winter months, Jan.-Mar.?
We do have two canine children, so it would probably be a little more difficult, but we do need to spend some time to get a feel for the area. I think we will probably have to buy a single family home not in a restricted community, due to the fact that I need to do woodwork and woodcarving, and I don't want to bother my neighbors with power tool noise. I think I remember people saying to rent a condo in the area you are interested in, but would they allow pets?
Any help would be appreciated, and congrats to all who have made their move.

Just saw the new floorplan for the Dartmouth model. Just what I have been looking for. Do you know when they plan to have a model of it built?
