Speaking as Minnesotan who lives in what is called outstate Minnesota away from the TC... Many Minnesotans dont like loud, aggressive politicans overall and some I spoke with thought Trump was that. Ted Cruz a bit too much religion involved and Rubio a bit better, calmer alternative.
I live in small town Northwest Minnesota. Pretty heavy Republican territory overall.
except he's a far right neo-con who has no moderation in any category and wants to ban gay marriage and other freedoms because the bible demands it. Name one policy in which he's a moderate

I was looking at the 3 major GOP candidates in contention. Of the 3, I feel he is by far least offensive.

Ted Cruz is so socially conservative he even makes Jerry Falwell, Jr. nervous.
And Marco Rubio is Ted's "mini-me" when it comes to those issues.
I guess "Sven" fell into the water when he was ice fishing...
its funny, the only caucus Rubio wins and he gets the same delegates as the #2 winner in Cruz with 12 delegates.....basically a tie....and only 4 more delegates than the #3 Trump.
doesn't that suck for Rubio, he finally wins a caucus but gets no delegate advantage.....LMAO!
and the humiliation will come in March 15th when he loses his home state of Florida to Trump.
after all the trash talking marco has done to lose your home state is rough.
In my small town (9k pop) Cruz won the caucus on the Rep side and Sanders on the Democratic side. About 150 showed up at the Senior Center for the Republican caucus which is more than in past elections. Turnout was about the same on the Democratic side with about 150 people showing up at the Senior High School library.
Once again, Minnesotans show the rest of the country that we are more intelligent than most other Americans. We are able to understand the concept of "pandering" as exemplified by a certain billionaire vulgarian. And we're not crazy. And we're not religious wackos. And we're not angry. We're just smart and sensible and practical.
Life in Minnesota is pretty great. Just listen to us and maybe you can live the good life, too!
You just voted for an immature brat for President. Not too smart!

He stammers and perspires as if he is on Death Row.
