Hair splitting anyone? Just what is Jill Stein then? She isn't a conservative. She isn't a libertarian.

so in other words, trump is protecting his rights under the law.would you rather any candidate just roll over and let people steam roll them? then you would complain that trump has no backbone. at this point however, these recounts are an expensive exercise in frivolity, you know it, trump knows it, stein and hillary know it, and so do the states in question.

Still possible that Trump doesn't get enough votes for what? Is he running for something else?

One side of them might have to draw in the Democrats to win. And you know their candidate would have to be very moderate, to get their cooperation.
This is the naive and wishful thinking of some people here, still living in their make believe little dream world liberal bubble. Reality is never an issue with some people nor lack of knowledge.

And those nine won't matter since they're pledged to Clinton. They wouldn't be voting for Trump in any event.

Why is this so damned hard to understand?

Not really. Some of the language in the Constitution is dense and somewhat archaic (that's why people always talk about original intent, see "Militia").

How the House elects a President is minutiae and isn't really taught in high school Government classes because it isn't tested in the required exit exams developed by Pearson for those states which have them.
