LOL how can you miss his constant rants on twitter. I am confused too, because he won. But his ego just won't let anything go that he feels insulted by. He really needs to get off Twitter since he feels insulted by SNL. Do we really need our president elect to obsess about SNL

No, it should always have been this way because it reflects the will of the people. Why doesn't every vote count. We the people elect. A winner take all state doesn't represent a true election.

Every vote does count. We do not elect people by popular vote in this country for very good reasons, perhaps you should move to a country with an election system that you prefer.

The people's votes should count because we run this country, not some ancient electoral college. So what is the reason for the popular vote not counting. Oh yeah, yada, yada, I have read it. Ancient, and we need to get into the times where the people matter.

He's the president-elect. Deal with it. Those of us who didn't vote for Obama had to suck it up and deal with it. If you don't do so, you will be in for a very rough 4 (hopefully 8!) years.

"The gap between the two extremes is remarkable. South Dakota, one of the most empowered states in the country, received almost twice the return on taxes as California, the country’s most populated state, while also commanding nearly twice as much power per capita in the Electoral College.

"...By contrast, 19 of the 25 most empowered (and largely rural) states went for Mr. Trump.

But as our cities get wealthier and more diverse and begin to realize how the system is genuinely “rigged” against them, tectonic forces may well be unleashed."

States that pay the most where their votes count the least: New Jersey, Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts, New York, Wisconsin, Michigan, Connecticut, California, Washington, Oregon

States that pay the least where their votes count the most: Wyoming, Alaska, North Dakota, Hawaii, South Dakota, New Mexico, Vermont, West Virginia, Rhode Island, Montana, Mississippi, Idaho
Looks like the red flyover states are smarter, opportunistic and getting a better deal....why would they want to change? There is some delicious irony in the fact that the states that were forced to remain part of the union are the ones most benefitting form the union and vice versa.

Again it was set up in this way to help balance the power of individual states. That's also why each state gets two Senators and each state gets a vote when amending the constitution that requires 3/4 of them. What is often missed here is it was never intended for the Federal government to have as much power as it does and these checks and balances are helping to prevent that.

If you disagree with this sytem you can try and amend the Constitution but that requires 3/4 of the States to agree so we know that is not going to happen. There is actually a way to get around this since each state gets to decide how to allocate it's electoral votes, they can form a a pact and agree to give their electoral votes to the national popular vote winner. Such a pact exists and would be enforced when the members that are part of it reach 270 votes.

I wouldnl't get your hopes up about this either, see PA in yellow for example? PA is currently dominated by Republicans legislature...

Exactly right. People like "seacove" don't bother to learn how our system was designed or why it was designed this way by the Framers, but just spout off in ignorance with these ridiculous notions.

Then he references a NY Times article, one of the least trusted and most biased rags on any "news" stand today, to bolster his argument! It's just laughable.
