I completely agree.

SO god I hope we do not become like California!!

I imagine California has almost all liberals everywhere in state legislature.
Redistricting reform. The GOP drew the lines in the state legislature for decades so was able to draw favorable lines to keep them in power despite the Dem lean of the state. In 2018 voters passed redistricting reform and the lines were drawn by an Independent Commission instead of the State Legislature. When you win by 10 points at the top of the ticket and the legislative lines are drawn fairly, others go with it.

Maybe a majority agreed with Whimer's Covid actions have you considered that?

Hard to believe but sadly I think you're correct. Time for sane Michiganders to reevaluate their surroundings or figure out how to cheat.

I don't think it was that but the election was far enough out that a lot of people forgot about the silliness of her early COVID mandates. They didn't campaign hard about this instead the election came down to the abortion issue.

Dixon doubled-down on pro-life and pro-MAGA, Whitmer pro-choice and for reproductive freedom and being the incumbent with deep pockets.

The COVID stuff barely got a blip in this election cycle.

Frankly ALL precinct lines should be drawn by independent commission in ALL states
Just so that the GOP can’t accuse the Dems of playing favorites
There have been VERY few cases where Democratic legislatures have use preferential boundaries
But there have been one or two
The GOP has entire states where precincts are drawn to favor GOP candidates

"Frankly ALL precinct lines should be drawn by independent commission in ALL states"

I would love to see this go nationwide. I don't have a problem losing to opposing party if their ideas were better than my own. It's the way the system is suppose to work.

Michigan also flipped the legislature to Democrat control first time in 38 years.

The chief of staff of the Michigan GOP is now blaming Tudor Nixon for the Republicans failing to carry the day in Michigan and the Democrats taking all four state-wide offices and complete control of the Michigan legislature.
