This European subservience to US/NATO policy has been gnawing the nether regions of the EU for some time now. While there are still many that benefit from the relationship these last few years opposition has been growing. Relations with Russia (potentially Europes greatest potential supplier of natural resources) have deteriorated largely due to the US/NATO domination of EU affairs.

Europeans are getting sick of it.

Maybe the EU will stand up for itself.

Since looking here a day ago, I can summarize what I've missed:

1) ISIS forces surrendering to/captured by the US and Iraqi partners is because of Russia.

2) Europe is tired of NATO and wants to give into Russia

3) Russians still believe their propaganda about shooting down most missiles into Syria, both US and apparently last night. Even though today Israel shows a video of a direct hit on a SA-22, Russia still backs up its claim that it has a 100% success rate against incoming...

We are expected to leberation from the Russian federation with the help of javelins.

Why do you need any weapons if Russia just has a bunch of scrap metal?

What liberation? Is Russia occupying you or something?

Don't you know anything about combined arms warfare? ATGMs like Javelins have their place. They work great against most tanks because they have the top attack option and a tandem warhead. Good for bunkers also. They do have their problems. First off they are delicate and complex. There's a lot of parts in the missile and the launcher, they don't like being jostled around. In a highly mobile fghting situation they're going to have a high failure rate.

Second they take a lot of training to learn how to use, they aren't Mosin Nagant rifles. At a cost of 250k a missile how many of them do you think anybody is shooting down range for practice? Not a lot.

Third. It takes time to set these things up in a good camoflaged location and more time to take them down. They aren't mobile and not of much use in mobile fast moving warfare. Show me a video of somebody shooting one of them from the back of a moving HUMVEE. Doesn't happen.

Fourth. Heat seekers are easy to confuse nowadays. Flares, dazzlers like the Russian Arena protective system and simple countermeasures applied to the tank can protect it.

All these things are good for is shooting from ambush. Shoot hope you kill the target and run for your life after abandoning the launcher because who you're shooting at will know where you're shooting from. You may get a kill on a tank but his friends are going to come after you and kill you. If the Russians come they won't come in a parade. They'll come like ants over the fields knowing that sitting still means death. So they won't be standing still. They'll have their eyes wide open and be looking for you.

Some of these weapons today look good on paper and on the testing ground in a video but I think you'll have better luck with something like an RPG-29 the Soviets made 30 years ago. Molotov cocktails and Mark 1 eyeballs too.

Watch the video.

The Pantsir was not active because the radar was not turning and apparently the crew is standing off to the side. 3 men to the left got a surprise. If the radar isn't working then it can't shoot anything down.

Like Kickin' puppies.

No Israeli aircraft entered Syrian airspace nor did they come close.

Israel is a lot stronger than Syria. They have entered it on a number of occasions in the past, even before the war. Syria has targeted Israel for a very long time, which is why they eventually lost the Golan Heights. If they were to sign a peace treaty, I'm sure they'd get it back like Egypt did with the Sinai. Israel has one of the most effective military's in the world. Just look at how long it took them to defeat the Arabs during the Six Day War.

Syria has long been a puppet of Iran, who is trying to spread it's Shia influence in the area. They are funding Hezbollah who essentially run freely across Lebanon.

P.S. That reminds me. Where is Ariete?
Ariete stomped off and quit last year sometime, I think. But there was a brief sighting of him on here a few months ago. He may still be lurking occasionally.

Currently they are. It may change in the future with the support of Iran and Russia. The Israeli are good , with the backing of the West. During the 6 day war Syria had their northern forces on the ropes. The Israelis were out of tank ammunition. If the Syrian armor had gotten down from the Golan heights onto the Aceh plain they would have gutted Israel.

Guess what. The US flew in tank ammo from Germany. Israelis pulled no rabbits out of a hat. They had help in many forms as a matter of fact.

Look at what happened in 2006 in Lebanon.

Isteal is good because US politicians are terrified of pissing off Jewish voters in America. They only exist as a nation because they blackmail America. Not because they're special.

Syria has been an independent, secular nation for many decades. Allied with Iran in varying degrees along with a few others. I hope they continue the fight against Israel and it's belligerant bullchit.

From what I understand the attacks recently have NOT involved Isreali aircraft entering Syrian airspace. Syrian AA defense has improved dramatically.
