Why not Medvedev?
Because Skolkovo, his favorite "child" is a total fiasco. Just an example. If before he was simply laughed at by general public, being christened "Dima-iPhone," by now he already infuriated people by his latest remark regarding teachers.
By the way remember Pavel Astakhov, children's ombudsman, responsible for the initiatives of banning adoption of Russian children by Americans? Just in case you 've missed it - he wrote resignation paper after recent public outcry over his yet another gaffe. It was one time too much.

A gaffe too far: Russia

As for Putin - of course he is popular in Russia primarily because of his external politics.

Most Russian believes Gorbachev is a traitor. It is a fact.
Russian leaders do not retire in good health. And Russian leaders do not live in Germany. I do not want to say that it is good or bad, but these are facts.

I think that such a person has long existed. He is from the Putin's administration or from a major force ministry. For example, Shoigu or someone from the FSB.

No. He's main trump card is the stability and peace of mind. He ended the war in Chechnya, he stopped the disintegration of the country, he has conquered the oligarchs, and they not rock the boat. The economy is stable for 16 years. This is very important after the 90s. Foreign policy - it's just bonus points.

Many people forget in what sh*t country was 16 years ago.

+ And he returned the Crimea. This puts him on a par with Catherine the Great.

Why do Russian media don't speak about the terrorist attacks in Moscow?
ISIS claimed today responsibility for the attack on policemen. 2 Russians injured and terrorist attackers shot dead.

Do media are under Putin total control?

No, Russian media is stronk and independent, unlike the French one.

Why not? Why wouldn't he, if he ran for Prez? Are there issues?
