Yea, war is hell, even more so when the enemy has no uniform, and embeds itself in the civilian population.

So a lot of civilians would have been caught up in the bombings. So Russia is not just bombing terrorists.

Russia is backing Assad regime, and the Assad regime it esp brutal, and even involved in terrorist attacks. An example is Assad Government forces commit a suicide bombing of a funeral:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua1gjIu2wAo I seen more footage of this terrorist attack and it looked like a suicide bomber and it was very graphic with bodies everywhere via liveleak. Yes Russia does support a regime that does commit acts of terrorism. This type of attack is not good for a NATO prospective, but a great attack from an Assad Government prospective.

Of course I was also against the US support Iraq invasion as well, so I not just one sided.
That's the thing. Both camps are involved in funding certain terrorist groups.

Pretty much true. The solution though is to not support any. This new style of proxy wars and shadow organizations is going to be a big problem for all of us.

I agree, Syria was a failed state before the Russians became much more directly involved in the conflict. The big trigger for Russia get really get involved was after the destruction of a Russian Passenger airline over Egypt. Even though Russia did a great deal of punitive airstrikes in Syria, they seemed to be bogged down in the conflict, just like other powers have in Syria with no clear solution in sight.

That's why I keep saying that funding either Saudi Arabia or Iran is a bad idea. Saudi's new crown prince does seem to be a bit more moderate though.

The Middle East are the worlds biggest buyers of Western and one of the biggest Russian military hardware in the world. One main reason the West and Russia gets involved in places such as Iraq and Syria is to test their latest weapons and to impress the Oil rich regimes in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia has been impressed on the Russian weapons used in Syria and since then Saudi Arabia is among Russia biggest buyers of military hardware. But of course Saudi Arabia is strongly opposed to Russian presence in Syria, yet Saudi Arabia has lost interests in Syria. Saudi Arabia is fighting a war in Yemen and it needs the latest weapons. Also they always have the Iranian threat as well, and Iran has been getting Russian arms.

I would say that a good relationship expect, most people understand what relationships are waiting for us in the States and what we need.

That's not really because of Trump though. Even if Sanders became president, the road to diplomacy would have been paved with opposition.
