Saudi Arabia has been impressed on the Russian weapons used in Syria and since then Saudi Arabia is among Russia biggest buyers of military hardware. But of course Saudi Arabia is strongly opposed to Russian presence in Syria, yet Saudi Arabia has lost interests in Syria. Saudi Arabia is fighting a war in Yemen and it needs the latest weapons. Also they always have the Iranian threat as well, and Iran has been getting Russian arms.
That's correct. The ME has been buying weapons for several decades now. It's a true political quagmire, with no clear lines drawn. Saudi Arabia and Iran are waging a proxy war in Yemen (with the help of weapons purchased from various parties) at the moment and have done do in both Iraq and Syria in the past. Then there's also Israel who's wary of Iran, but doesn't want to get too close to SA either, due to religion.
Lastly Turkey's been flip flopping around in there as well. One day Erdogan wants Assad out, the next he wants a more open approach.

Ok, thanks.
Pasta from Oklahoma. I expected a worst, but it was good. I'm sure that I finish the whole jar (I like sweets). But dryish.

Russia provided humanitarian corridors in Aleppo. The military rendered humanitarian assistance to the civilian population. Now the city lives a normal life. What about Mosul?

Russia supports the legitimate government. Russia has the legal right to be on the territory of Syria. NATO has no right to be there according to international law. Both camps are involved in funding certain terrorist groups only in very special your world.

Russia has the clear plan. War on terrorism and preservation of a secular united state in Syria. Have you read about the recent congress in Sochi?

Yes. Perhaps strengthening China will push the United States into an alliance with Russia. But this takes time.

China is very coy in international affairs, I don't think American politicians will realize China's potential threat until China surpasses the US as the largest economy and their African investments start bring in profits, and by then it will be to late. Also America's long time strategy has been to have Russia and China fight one another, and not necessarily aligning to one or the other. But of course in recent years American foreign policy has been instead pushing Russia and China closer to one another. But this relationship is very fragile and when China clearly becomes the top dog of Asia, Russia and China will be butting heads again (since Russia want's to be seen as an equal in this relationship). I'm guessing this is what the US is counting on. Perhaps when the Kuril island dispute is figured out, Russia and Japan with south Korea will align against China. But again this all depends on how China will view Russia in the next 10 or so years, as an equal or as a little brother (similar to how Russia views Ukraine).

There is a nuance. Russia subsidized the economy of Ukraine with preferential loans and gas discounts. China does not subsidize the Russian economy.

Actually he was an extraodinary man.

Not too many White Army generals became commander-in-chief and a president of the former Czarist Russia territories.

Or get visited by Hitler on their birthday (the only recording of unofficial Hitler's voice), note they do not throw "sieg heil"s here.

Or could smoke sigar in Hitler's presence during that visit, knowing Hitler's aversion to smoking. And, timeline of this visit was in a middle of Leningrad siege and before Stalingrad battle. June 4 1942. Bold.

"Finns owe much to their old Marshal.
Due to Mannerheim, Finland was not occupied.[49] " (Stalin to Finnish delegation in 1947)
Due to Stalin's admiration Mannerheim was not persecuted for "crimes against peace".
