Apparently, Sergei Skripal was personally involved in the trafficking of chemical weapons material and processing equipment to Syria for the British government. The Russian government had been tracking his activities. That is one scenario as to why the British government suspected the Russian government had him killed. There are a number of other individuals doing the same WMD work for the US, UK, France, and Israel that we don't hear about.

His poisoning case is similar to Kim Jong-Nam where the use of highly toxic nerve agents was claimed. Both poisonings were essentially isolated to the targeted individual. All of the governments on both sides of the issue could've been involved.

If you guys keep pushing conspiracy theories and threats of war you might find yourself getting what you ask for. Sounds like you want to join China so please leave Europe alone and go meddle in Asia where you originally came from.

More scuttlebutt from Syria. There are 2 American Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyers and 1 French near Lebanon. Russian aircraft are monitoring them closely. These ships are cruise missile boats.

Isreal used 2 F-15 eagle aircraft to launch 8 Popeye ALCMs from the area of Lebanese airspace (in violation of Lebanese airspace) with heavy EW support from an unknown source. Despite this the Syrian air defense shot down 5 of the 8 missiles. Just what they used to do it is unknown but their air defense assets have been upgraded significantly by Russia. Israeli aircraft did not approach or violate the Syrian border.

The alert extends to Ukraine as well.

There've been all kinds of warnings from 2014 onward. The US press has released Army studies on when best to attack Russia or China before the costs to the US would be prohibitive. The window would be be closing by 2025.

The current backdrop is very similar to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. US complaining that the UN must authorize military action or they would be ignored. Chemical weapons inspectors invited into Syria, yet Trump says it's not relevant who carried out the attack.

Putin turning on the spin machine to 100%. He's probably telling his coward army in Syria to hide in their safe zones until this next stage is over. His silence tells us he won't do anything to prevent it, so he's getting ready to whine and complain about not being able to use the UN veto to prevent a response. He and his allies were warned about chemical attacks and yet here we are dealing yet again with Putin's contempt for human life. No a dictator does not have the right to gas families who want a choice in who leads their country.

Trump promised to attack Syria. I hope he will not hit Russian bases or places of deployment of Russian military. Because this will be beginning of the war. With a high degree of probability, the ships will be flooded with retaliatory attack Russians.

Trump did not promise to attack anybody, he did say a price would be paid. Obama said that once and sanctioned somebody's grandma...so it could be anything.

Of course we would not attack Russian bases, unless they were the ones using gas. And I really doubt they would do something so risky. No need to get into such hypothetical when real lives are at stake. And no, our ships are invincible to Russian attacks in the region short of a nuke. It would be a suicidal mission to attack our destroyers.
