I don't think so because she will not eat a red valencia orange now...Pink grapefruit is pushing it...then it will be in ambrosia.

I have to admit I'm partial to a good off the tree normal orange...I had a red orange tree but didn't like them...Gave the tree away...while it was small enough to move....The standard valencia orange is seedless to almost seedless and is very heavy in fruit solids....great fresh eating and for making concentrate....they ripen in May....

I know they are marketed as blood oranges...I just wonder what they really are...From grove to market several oranges change names for marketing purposes...

Mineola Tangelos become Honey Bells...
Murcots become Honey Oranges....

as examples

The ones I get turn almost beet colored on the inside (some shows through to the outside), and they get more tart as they ripen.

Here's a link to the wikipedia article on blood oranges for the people who have never seen one. Blood orange - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Funny...I thought you did already too! Two welcomes are fine with me! Thanx! I will be back with a great recipe for Italian Nachos! Great to make on a Sunday afternoon if friends are over to watch some sports.
