My big cook out this week: Chicken/mushroom/onion/potato croquettes, Noodles and Ham Polish style with half & half/cheddar & parmesan cheese (very rich!), Hungarian style Fish Fillets and Fried Rice with Ham & Pork.

For sweets: Chocolate cheesecake, plum pie and orange meringue pie. Have never ever seen an orange pie on any menu at any restaurant, saw it in my Pie cookbook, and finally decided to try it. Very good!

This will have to last me until until the middle of next week but I'll be cook-free until then!

We are having Chinese food. I am about to head to the kitchen to make a supply of egg rolls. We will also have fried rice, salmon, and snow peas. I had better get started, the Hogs football game comes on in an hour and 1/2 and I want to have the egg rolls finished by then. I usually make enough to freeze for the next 6 months or so. BTW, I know Hogs football probably doesn't excite any of you, but living in AR you better believe it: you are either a Hogs fan or you had better not show your face the whole season long!!! Heck we had our dog groomed a few days ago and the groomer put a Hogs scarf on him, or a do rag as the spoiled brat calls it.

Beef stew is simmering in the oven. I'll make some kind of biscuits or corn muffins to go with it.

Creamy pumpkin soup with leeks. Roasted cauliflower. A large tossed salad with Boston Lettuce dried cranberries walnuts and thinly sliced red onions and crumbled blue cheese. Apple spice vinaigrette dressing.

A nice loaf of crusty whole grain bakery bread - what ever they have.

Apple crisp for desert. And some local Ohio wine for the adults. apple cider for the others.
