I am not sick of snow anymore, since we don't have any, but I totally understand how you feel. The urge to kill, if you don't see some sun pretty soon, is what I remember at this time of year up north. If you aren't afraid of skin cancer, a few doses at a tanning bed made me feel better.
We had a slab of boneless ribs that I'm treating as skirt steak, marinated in soy sauce, ginger, garlic and oil, and seared. Scalloped potatoes with gorgonzola cheese, and spinach. It was pretty awesome.
burgers, with a big fat fail on the gnocchi I was trying out as a side dish. Gotta wait for it to cool down before I can dump it in the trash. It's sitting in the skillet and I give it the stink-eye every time I go in the kitchen now.
Last minute decision we ate at Chili's. I had a steak and mashed potatoes with broccoli. Been 2 or 3 years since we've hit Chili's. We weren't missing anything.
I seasoned pork loin cubes in a paste made with olive oil, a bit of brown sugar, and a Moroccan-inspired spice blend (ground coriander, paprika, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, turmeric), then I put the cubes on a kabob with nectarine chunks and seedless grapes. I cooked the kabobs over a hot grill to get those luscious char marks.
I served the kabobs over couscous mixed with olive oil, stir-fried onions, and frozen green peas.
The side was a sweet-pickled three-bean salad with red onions and celery seeds I made last night.
BTW - you can use those "less-than-ripe" fruits available this time of year for grilling. Grilling really brings-out the sugar and they stay together better because they are firm.
