Just the two of us:we are having brats, and potato salad, very typical 4th even without the family. Then we will watch the Capital 4th so we can see the fireworks, plus it is always a great show.

Dinner tonight is green chile cheeseburgers, baked potatoes, corn on the cob, fresh peas, and sliced tomatoes. Watermelon for dessert after the fireworks. Drinking a very nice homemade sangria.

New York style pizza from a nearby pizzeria (not chain), all meat.

I was starving, freaking delish.

What's more American on this fourth of July than a pizza.

I cooked a nice Nigerian okra, goat, fish stew. Delicious. I'm going to make a rice to go with it tomorrow!

See the "what's on your July 4th menu" thread. The food was a big hit.

We traveled over hill and over dale to BIL's house. Okay, it's fifteen minutes away, in a nice development. He grilled burgers & hot dogs, his MIL brought deviled eggs and potato salad, someone else brought a chocolate eclair cake (delish!), and we brought watermelon.
