Just doing finger food: crab legs, deviled eggs, shrimp-stuffed tomatoes, raw oysters and 2 or 3 bottles of Veuve (2 for me one for the fellas).

I'm cooking up some oxtails with butter beans and some rice and peas. I'll have some cornbread and a drink on the side.

BC, do you have a recipe for that potato salad? Looks lovely!

Yesterday I made a macaroni dish for supper, there was plenty so we ate it tonight again. It’s browned ground beef, green peppers and onions, tomatoes (I used a big can of whole peeled tomatoes), and elbow pasta. Down here in south Louisiana they call it Goulash. My mom made a version of it way up north long ago that she used to call Chop Suey. Whatever it’s called, it’s good stuff. Comfort food.

Pulled some smoked pork out of the freezer, made a whiskey BBQ sauce that is my current fave, brioche buns, red cabbage, green apple, cilantro, and some spinach. Side of sauteed green beans and yellow bells with butter and lime juice.
