Good day all. Tonight either soup or a baked sweet potatoe with butter and cinnamon. Mouth is still really tender after dental surgery...so soft foods for at least a couple of weeks. So, I will be dreaming of tacos, burritos, BLTs, enchiladas, etc.....Happy Birthday to Mrs. Nomad!
Hope everyone is feeling better and the weather cooperates with everyone's plans...temps here are in the upper 80's, but the wind is still bad.
I'll go back now and catch up on the happenings since Sunday.
I never posted what's for dinner. Last night ended up having fried ham and eggs with a little toast. SOOOO good. Sprinkled each side of the ham slices with sugar and fried in some buttah. DH was very impressed & said he never had anything so good. That is his standard response to a good dinner but I will take it every time.
Tonight I am going to deal with the ham bone and unsliced ham.. probably freeze it all. I will make my ham fried rice very soon but not quite soon enough to leave it out, I don't think.
If I am very energetic when I get home, dinner tonight will be sweet and sour pork & rice. If I am not so together, it might be hot dogs. Darn! I have no ground beef. Otherwise I'd make that spanish sauce of Jaxson's.
After dinner at the steak house I think instead of having a dessert there we will stop at the supermarket's bakery and get a key lime pie. That would extend the bday celebration a day or too. I think key lime is her favorite. What ever she wants she gets without having to make it.
Another gloomy, chilly day here. I'm in a fleece and sweatpants, looks like Friday and Saturday, I will be wearing capris and sandals. Can't come soon enough!
DH is taking me out tonight for a birthday dinner. He said it's my choice, so I'm thinking....so many restaurants to choose from.
It's a beautiful day, in the 60's, the snow is gone so we're rolling out the grill for cheeseburgers on hard rolls with fried onions, baked beans and salad. I cannot wait.
Last night, I found I still had a little of my salsa chix stuck in the back of the fridge, so I ate that with some spanish rice.
That means tonight I can do the frozen pizza and salad... Stop and Shop makes some darn good frozen pizza!
