Good morning Foodies! I hope you all had a good weekend.
We cooked out last night - made some barbecued chicken drumsticks and some middle eastern spiced turkey patties that I sliced up and served like gyro meat on flour tortillas with sweet onion and yogurt sauce spiked with fresh mint.
Leftover meat for dinner tonight, along with some french bread and salad with homemade dressing. I'm feeling vinaigrettey, I think.
I have a Porterhouse steak for DH to grill for dinner tonight. I'll fry up some onions to go with that. I have some leftover Angel Hair Pasta,w/Pesto and Shrimp from last nights dinner as a side dish. Probably, that will be it, since the steak is quite big.
So much to catch up on but I will eventually. Love to see what goes on in everyone's busy lives.
Tonight I think I will pop a chicken on the rotisserie not sure of the potato yet but as a side I will simmer summer squash zucchini mushrooms onions and diced tomatoes with a little basil and garlic. Quick and easy.
I think we're going to make tacos tonight...sounds like there are some wonderful cooks on this forum! I'm going to start taking notes
There are some wonderful cooks and ideas here for sure! I have an entire notebook filled with recipes from this table!! I copied and pasted and put it in a saved notebook file. Many I have already tried and so far each has been great!
lisa, the crockpot really doesn't use much electric at all. The next time you go to the store pick up the Reynold's Crockpot liners, no clean up. Are you browning your sausage first before adding it to the crockpot to get the fat off?
The chicken dinner last night was absolutely outstanding. I forgot to mention to you that the last 15 mins. I drizzled honey on the chicken & cranberries. OMG! We couldn't finish the half chicken between us, zero fat from the chicken, so there is enough left for h lunch one day this week.
Everyone's dinners yesterday sounded so good.
I will be back to fill you in on dinner for tonight, h just called and is on his way home for lunch. Time to check the fridge. Be back soon. kelsie
