I pan fried (always forget what a mess that still makes) a croaker.
I went to the Asian farmer's market today at it looked very fresh and it was only $1.99/lb!

I also stir fried some gai lan (Chinese broccoli) (not my picture - it's from the web). I stir fried it with some ginger. I totally lucked out and it the ginger caramelized! Yum-o!!! I also had some steamed white rice too.

Grocery Cart Karma (continued): So you know I have been very conscious of not taking other folks grocery carts. Today, I parked my cart far away as I went back to the fish counter to pick up my cleaned fish. When I returned back with my cleaned fish in hand. I noticed a woman handling my cart! I stared in the cart to make sure it was indeed mine. Sure enough, a tomato, bananas and some plums were it the child's seat area. She moved it a bit and believe me, I watched! Then she returned to her family. As soon as she turned her back I threw the fish in the cart and hurried away. I looked back and she was moving another cart. I hope that one was hers! In retrospect I think she just wanted to move the cart so her child could view the live rainbow trout and lobsters swimming about. Obviously a 300 degree view was not enough for her At least I didn't take someone else's cart!

Anybody have any tips on cleaning a stove top of grease? Mine is black and I hate streaks!

That pulled pork pizza sounds heavenly.

It's so pretty today after an overcast, drizzly weekend, that I'm going to grill some burgers. Also because I forgot to defrost anything else, and preformed patties can hit the grill frozen. I just got lucky with the weather.

Bonus: More fresh tomatoes are ready in the garden (love this early growing season in California) so a nice salad and thick slices for the burgers to make it all extra special.

AKgirl be sure you have a bib or a wipe cloth handy while reading this thread.

YLisa I don't think crocks use that much eletricity but it will be nice to know if they do.

Mooseketeer just as a carpentar measures twice & cuts once; cooks need to cook enough for 2 meals. Now share this onion & pasta salad please. There is a food porn thread with pictures on here too.

kelsie with all your fine cooking how much leftovers do DH & you eat in a week? Because yours sound gourmet compared to my country dishes.

Mookster good luck in your 8K my oldest use to run XC don't know how runners do it.

skbs girl auntie Jaxson is coming up there to take care of your fragile family my dear. Glad you had a nice date with DH though without anything distracting you.

NMS congrats with DH making supper I am sure you were fed well.

GloryB you might be able to rent DS out as a diet control device for the summer.

Nomad I hope you don't forget that pizza either because we are waiting on your review of it up here.

We had Vidalia onions sliced sandwiches, mash pot, green beans for supper. Oh yeah that was a burger between the slices of onions, changed that up a bit and added provolone cheese.

We are getting hammered with t-storms this is the 3rd time I have tried to post at the table since 3pm. I'll catch ya all later I'm shutting down again.

Jax, we have a leftover night maybe once a week. What I do is portion control. Yesterday I had my fish Specialist cut me 1 1/2 lbs. Wild Alaskan Salmon fillets, I knew that this would be dinner tonight and the rest his lunch for tomorrow. As you all know most weeks he has a "stupid shift day" where he comes home for dinner at 3:00 pm EST, so the leftover whatever comes out of the fridge. DH works 2.8 mi. from our home and is home for lunch every day, so I try and make it a little easier for Ms. "k".

Dinner turned out very good, we were both stuffed and happy, the tartness of the vinegar on the spinach and sweetness of figs were a happy marriage. He said he is keeping me for another week, what a lucky Italian wife I am.

I hope you all have a lovely evening I will check back with you later. kelsie

Mr. L told me that 41 years ago and I'm still here!!! Otherwise he'd be eating his specials-scrambled eggs, oyster stew or grilled cheese.

Nite all! Oh wings 2nd nite were really sticky and rice/beans an encore.

Wow, everyone's dinners sound so good, some are sooo interesting! May just have to try a PP pizza! Have some leftover.

We had beef and noodles tonight with a Greek salad (well at least my DD#4's version, which doesn't contain the best parts such as the onion, olives or beets. Just feta and tomatos and I am lucky to get the tomatos in.)

Have a great evening!!

Sounds good, Nomad.

Thank you, Jaxson. I'll let you know if I'm draped over the hood of the police car that rounds up all the stragglers at the end.

LOL at your dh, kelsie. I'm always forced to behave myself because my guy is actually a better cook than I am. Maybe I'll tell him I'll keep him for another week next time he cooks.
