Fortunately CN Hotels is building the deck and not the city. This is a big reason why this project is getting off the ground so fast.

Cool. Is it built in to the building or will it be separate? Behind the hotel? Beside it? I'm just trying to visualize it.

Going to be attached but behind. On the Federal Place and Exchange Place corner. If more developers built their own decks they can avoid all the city red tape and delays which will end up costing them more in the long run. I don't know why Carroll just didn't build his own deck beneath the tower he had planned. If you can afford to build a tower, you can certainly afford a parking deck.

On January 19th, Roy Carroll posted the following on his Twitter account. “A big announcement for the Carroll Companies/Greensboro coming in the next two weeks. It will be delivered via Twitter.” Any ideas what this will be?

That he's actually going to finish the Carroll at Bellemeade project?

Nice list with one slight correction. The orange site is where the old jail and the 2-story Otto Zenke building is located. The county is very tentatively planning to tear those down and build a new hq for the Sheriff's Office.

Will be interesting to see. However Carroll has projects all over the county. So it will be interesting to know if this big announcement is about downtown or another project in the county. Definitely will watch out for the announcement.

Looks like construction on the Westin Hotel and ballpark office building will begin late spring. It would be really great if they take the office building back to 9 stories which would depend on whether or not they found a replacement tenant.

Again I look forward to Roy Carroll's "big announcement" in a few weeks.

Also....finally the rest of Greene Street downtown will become two way
