Def needs the right investor, motivation by the city, and a sublet police station.

There is some movement with the Westin Greensboro.

There is now a crane. And also I couldn't really tell but it appears there are several long trucks with what Looks like pieces of a tower crane. It wasn't quite daylight so I couldn't tell for sure.

It is indeed the tower crane they are erecting for the Westin. The small crane is being used to erect it.

Yes it did remind of the Tanger Center where it looked like they kept playing around in the dirt. The Westin Greensboro website says the opening date will be in 2023. The tower crane on the site is significant progress over the past several months. The crane is going up fast. I hope to get some photos when its fully erected. I have the perfect view from my apartment so I'll always be able to see the construction progress of the hotel just looking out my door.

In addition site work on the 12-story AC Hotel by the ballpark will begin Q1 2022 (very soon) so it looks like a second tower crane could be erected this year for downtown Greensboro's fourth new hotel. The Hyatt Place has been open for a while. The Hampton Inn and Suites is complete and should be open shortly. Part of the top of the crane for the Westin has been assembled and those guys are working in the dark on it. That's got to be a job. I can't imagine how cold it is up there right now.

Yes indeed! I saw it too. You can see project slugger barely through the haze as well.

About time they actually erect a crane on that lot. I look forward to more updates

But going forward, please do not post hundreds of pictures of the crane… next thing we know, we’ll have 10 pages of the crane at different angles
