What I read about Mattress Firm the other day states that they bought out 2 of their competitors, but for some reason didn't consolidate. Seems weird to me.

Mattress Firm, with 3,300 stores and more than $3 billion in annual revenue, has its own problems: declining sales, too many stores and issues with integrating some big mattress chains it swallowed in recent years. In the first nine months of 2018, Mattress Firm’s sales fell 13% from the year-earlier period.
The complaint, filed Tuesday in a Tampa, Fla., federal court, accused Mattress Firm of selling mattress and bedding products in the Tampa area that are “strikingly similar†in their appearance and their advertisements to Tempur Sealy’s TPX, -4.38% trademarked Tempur-Pedic brand.

The company said it will quickly close 200 underperforming stores and make decisions about whether to close or maintain the other 500 stores in the coming weeks. It currently has more than 3,300 stores in the United States.
